Why is the big curve of the Huang an important part of the river? What happens here?

It has a big dam to prevent flooding for they would not have loss of crops or staving.

The curve is an important part of the river because it goes through the hills and the hills have no loess, so when it storms the loess gets carried by the river up to the hills. When the loess gets there the farmers up in the hills have good siol.
